Once I came across a DVD for a movie she did in the early 30s called Rain I believe. I remembered seeing how young and gorgeous she looked and how HOT!
Rain was the first Joan Crawford movie I ever saw. I was quite young, maybe 13. It was on one early afternoon on PBS and it seemed quite intense. That's from 1932? Pre-code! I need to see it through adult eyes...
"My Dancing Lady" (1933) is one of my favorite movies (I think it was Fred Astaire's debut - without Ginger yet). Joan's hero certainly is Clark Gable.
O darn! I'm still waiting for that gorgeous thing, having ordered it a few weeks ago.
I recently watched "Rain" 'through adult eyes' and really enjoyed it. I'm not a massive fan of Miss Crawford (just a fan I'd guess) but she's really good in it. Pretty gritty film too...

Joan Crawford was ALWAYS hot! It's just the audiences that got cold...
ReplyDeleteWhat a sassy, mysterious, hot pic!
ReplyDeleteYou betcha! She's amazingly slinky in her pre-Coders...
